To me one of the best sounds out there is an nice engine starting. When they garble to life you just know that you have awoken a monster.
I don't remember seeing this on here before but it probably was so my apologies. For the the rest of you who missed it like myself please enjoy :)

Two cars I've owned that I just loved hearing start were my Porsche 928S4 and my BMW X5 4.8is. Both big German V8s that just sounded great, especially when starting up.
